I have some ipw2200 cards with very low version of firmware, and I'v installed firmware card to my computer.
How to write firmware to the EEPROM of the cards?

The firmware gets loaded every time the ipw2200 kernel module is loaded! Or am I missunderstanding something here?

Can I write the firmware to the ipw2200 card's EEPROM permanently? So that I can use the card with new firmware in a Windows box.

IMO: no
I think you'd have to update the windows ipw2200 driver. But I barely used my ipw2200 in windows and never bothered about its driver version in win. Sorry

With such a low version of fw, the card cannot work in windows.
And I can't dectect the device in wpa_gui. But I can see eth1 by iwconfig, it says the radio is off.
