Hi everybody!
I've been looking for software to manage the RAW files from my Canon (EOS 300D (Digital Rebel)). There are enough of them, but I need one that sends on the EXIF data to the JPEG. It would be way too much effort to do that manually for the amount of photo's I take.
I've tried plenty of things. RawStudio would be perfect, except it lacks EXIF support. LightZone is a bit more complete, but way too chucky and I don't like the controls for WB, exposure, etc.
I think that leaves me with either commercial software (ie. Bibble) or ufraw. However, I can't get ufraw to write my EXIF-data. As far as I can tell, it reads EXIF fine, but it says "Warning: EXIF data will not be sent to output" and the option to save jpeg with EXIF is greyed out...
I do have exiv2 and even libexif (though not needed for Canon's CRW) installed properly. I've tried building ufraw through ABS (with exiv, of course). I've tried building ufraw manually from source. I really don't know what else to try! Any suggestions would be very welcome!

I'm shamelessly bumping my own thread, because I still haven't found any solution! There aren't any other eligible RAW-converters, except maybe Picasa... (ugh...)
Does anyone else have this problem? If not, does anyone know whether Picasa does any editing to RAW images before or after RAW processing? Thanks!

I used ufraw and then exiftool. I've found the problem: ufraw checks for exiv2-config and it's deprecated in the last version of exiv2 (0.14). I posted this to ufraw's forum. You can try to compile exiv2-0.13, but I hope that it will be new release of ufraw soon or the patch fixing this issue.

There is a patch:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/at … ?id=153434
(the same bug was on the RedHat systems). Now I will file a bug report.
