Hi,
I just updated to the latest kernel (2.6.21 from 2.6.20) and am experiencing a high CPU utilization by ksoftirqd. I cannot figure out why this is happening. I've tried disabling services one by one, disabling my ethernet devices, booting without apic/acpi, etc. (info obtained from googling, but those issues were back in 2004/2005) But ksoftirqd still uses around 30%. Any ideas?
Thanks

Check whether the problem persists with ck-patched kernel.

I've got same problem on stock arch kernel 2.6.22 (ksoftirqd was always using ~30% cpu), switched do kernel26ck and problem was solved. I'm using amd64 (but arch i686) with nforce chipset.
