Can you run xine in broadcast mode only...

...so that it does not try to open the display, I've tried the following from a remote host but it didn't work.

# xine -V none -A none -g -I -H --broadcast-port 8010 --no-logo --no-splash
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.4.
