Hey all,
Last nite i tried to install arch and the installer got me all the way to putting GRUB on the MBR. The installer just sits and waits and waits. When I reboot, all i get is GRUB> So, thte installer never got to put grub in the MBR. I tried to do the install about 3 times. Same result every time. I am using the Duke installer and need to start /arch/setup with legacy-ide (not in front of my box, but i think this is it) boot flag in order for my ide drives to be recognized as hda. Arch is the only os on this machine.
I have poked around and it looks like I have a couple of options:
1. use lilo
2. intall via ftp
I think i am going to try #2. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I have seen and read links in the wiki on recovering from grub problems, but this is a fresh install. I really hope that isn't the only option.

Another possibility is to use the "old" 0.8 ISO and try whether they work. As Arch Linux uses the rolling release method, there's no difference between a clean Duke installation and an updated 0.8 System.

Hey there,
That may be what i try. But it is a little concerning that the current iso doesn't work to well w/ grub on a clean install.
