i get this here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ker … rom_Source
although Arch way is to use ABS for kernel compilation but this way is still present in Wiki. this article suggests the symbolic link creation: "ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.6.21 /usr/src/linux"
recently i was talking on CRUX mailing list regarding creating that symlink (Gentoo uses that symlink concept). now unlike Gentoo both Arch and CRUX are based on simplicity, the KISS principle, and CRUX does not have this symlink concept and in my "Duke x86_64" i do not see any "/usr/src/linux" symlink.
CRUX folks say that symlink is not a good thing to do for KISS based systems and i get these 2 from Google:
http://linuxgazette.net/issue62/tag/4.html
http://linuxmafia.com/faq/Kernel/usr-sr … mlink.html ( Linux Torvalds's reply )
so i think to follow the KISS way we need to remove that symlink concept from the Wiki. i want o know your views on this.

rather that removing the whole entry a (big fat) warning with the links u provided (i suppose they re relevant cause i havent actually read them ) would be better imho. many ppl still use that way of compiling their kernels
There shouldn't be any reason to learn more editor types than emacs or vi -- mg (1)
[You learn that sarcasm does not often work well in international forums. That is why we avoid it. -- ewaller (arch linux forum moderator)

doesn't the wiki have a talk page feature for this?
The suggestion box only accepts patches.
