Missing launchitems in Gnome-menu

Excuse my ignorance, just jumped into Arch hours ago..

Most apps I installed on Arch don't create a launchitem in the gnome-menu..
I understand how to create one by hand but still it's irritating.. For example Worker, KeePassx, Krusader don't leave a trace in the menu.. Is this common-behaviour on Arch? Or am I missing something?
