HowTo skip certain packages?

Good afternoon,

some minutes ago I wanted to do a full system upgrade (as usual) with pacman -Syu. It's complaining about a package collision - arts colliding with kdemod-arts. Yeah, well, I do only need kdemod-arts and hence tried to remove arts, finding out that I haven't got it installed at all.

So I am asking for a way to skip arts in the system upgrade process as it's trying to remove the kdemod-part I want to keep. Any idea?

Thanks for suggestions in advance

Re: HowTo skip certain packages?

Try

pacman -Syu --ignore arts

Re: HowTo skip certain packages?

Thanks, but it did not work. I cannot see why pacman wants to install kdelibs with no kde installed at all (kdemod is a seperate thing..).

Any explanation for that?

// edit

Ah, I see now. I got some other kde programs installed, but the arts dependency messes up my installation.
