I'm running XFCE4 on X at the moment, but I've been experimenting with beryl a bit (and got it to work finally!), but I wanna try XGL too. I'm on an nVidia card, and I heard that the graphics are much smoother in XGL, so I wanna try it. However, when I run startxgl from the command line, I get a grey screen with an X for a cursor ... no window manager? exec xfce4-session is in my .xinitrc, what's wrong?

Ah, figured it out. You gotta put startxgl [display] [window manager] [card type]. For example, startxgl 0 xfce nvidia. If you less startxgl, you'll see the commented script that explains this pretty well actually.
Best of all, I got it to work!
