emacs doesn't stalls

Hi, I have a dv6000t with an intel ipw3945 wireless card(eth2). The funny thing is, that when I try to use emacs while wirelessly connected to an encrypted network, it takes about ~30 seconds to startup, sometimes longer. When I use a wired ethernet cable (eth0) emacs starts up normally. How do I make emacs start up normally? Thanks
