I've upgraded to Duke. Everything works fine. When I now try to upgrade I get this error message:
error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
bash: /etc/skel/.bashrc exists in filesystem
Can I just remove .bashrc?

.bashrc (and some other things) used to be in the "filesystem" package, but are now in "bash" (and I think "xorg-xinit" got a couple, too). Upgrade "filesystem" first.

ataraxia -- filesystem has been updated, tried to update bash, got the same error message. Remove .bashrc???

/etc/skel/.bashrc is just a kind of "template" anyway. you could remove it or rename it, etc. and see if that worked.

Thanks slackhack,
I renamed .bashrc,, did a upgrade, it worked well. I didn't want to remove the old .bashrc without knowing the reults.
Thanks again -- Larry
