[solved] open mpd port

I've got MPD successfully installed on Arch. I'm trying to control it from my Mac using either Theremin or MpcOSX.  Neither connects.. it looks like port 6600 is not open on the Arch machine even though I've got MPD:All in my /etc/hosts.allow

Is there something else I need to do to allow access?  MPD is running..

 grep bind /etc/mpd.conf
bind_to_address                 "localhost"
