This is simply a matter of curiosity.
I used to manually add my Windows XP entry to Grub. In Voodoo, it's there automatically (just commented out). There's an option that I never had to add before. It's makeactive. What does that mean?

Makeactive definition as stated in the Grub Manual on their website
It is not necessary for most modern operating systems.
I have to make sure to add the following before makeactive.
map (hd0) (hd1)
map (hd1) (hd0)
Edit: Now that I think about it, I don't quite understand what makeactive is doing. <sigh> I try to help and end up confusing myself.
