osx-like iconbar on gnome desktop

Hi, I'm using arch duke, and i've installed gdesklets, but I can't manage to find starterbar desklets for download. is there another desklet with a nice launchbar, like osx?? or, where can I find starterbar?? does anyone uses the genesis desklet?? how to install it?

the gdesklet starterbar that i used is http://gdesklets.zencomputer.ca/starter … 1.3.tar.gz it was alright, worth checking out

Well, it may seem a silly observation, but XFCE4 looks fairly Mac OS X like these days. Same sort of panel on the bottom and bar across the top. Have you tried XFCE4? It is a great environment, and much lighter and faster than bigger ones like KDE and/or Gnome.

thak you all!! I've found starterbar... and it works great... but i still have 2 problems:

1- gdesklet is loaded as a daemon?? well.. it loads starterbar at login, but like a window... not like a bar... how to "fix" it??

2- other windows open above the bar, and i want the bar to be always shown...
I've searched ways tosolve both, but I haven't suceeded...

I used adesklets a couple of years ago; never used gdesklets. Are you sure these aren't just down to configuration options in the desklet's config file?

hi folks...

so, I've fixed one problem... now it loads just fine... but still the other windows come above it.. si there any way to change this option?? 'cause in the config section there's nothing...

you can config the bar to stay in front via a shortcut key, you just have to edit the config file...if youre using the gdesklets one

yes I'm using gdesklets.. how do I configure it?? I'm still a little bit confused about the main configuration file... would it be starterbar.display?? if so, what line do I have to edit??

Right click on it and add launchers and change text
