GNOME - Last pacman -Syu - Lost title bars [SOLVED]

Hi,

In a recent pacman -Syu I lost the titlebars in every window opened in GNOME, the only way to close/minimize/etc. is with the menus. It happens with different xorg drivers: fglrx, ati, radeon, vesa, so I think it can be related to some GNOME or XORG libs.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Are you running Beryl? if not do in console: metacity --replace

to recover your windows borders. If that works you can try to reinstall metacity.

I have the same issue and I'm running Beryl.  I suspect the xgl update broke it?

Re: GNOME - Last pacman -Syu - Lost title bars [SOLVED]

I had xgl-0.0.1.20070602 installed (it was installed in an upgrade last night).  I reverted back to xgl-0.0.1-20070105-2 and all was fine again.  If you haven't cleaned your cache and/or move it, do something like:

pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/xgl-0.0.1-20070105-2.pkg.tar.gz

If you have to, look in your /var/cache/pacman/pkg for an older xgl package and "pacman -U <file>" it, restart/reboot and things should be fine.

Thank you Skatox, no Beryl so reinstalling Metacity solved the problem. Stupid me! Tried everything but . . .
