I don't know if this could be the problem, but maybe there is something wrong with your RAM.  You could try booting memtest from the Arch install CD, and let it run for awhile, to see if it finds any memory errors.

"oom-killer" is the "out of memory process killer". Looks like you ran out of RAM, and the kernel killed something so the system wouldn't crash.

Do you have enough RAM and swap space?

You have no swap configured? Konqueror and Firefox are both huge memory hogs. You could easily use all your memory doing ordinary things (especially if you use KDE or other large things).

Configure some swap. If you have no free partitions, but a little free space, you can swap to a file: http://www.netadmintools.com/art1.html I suggest at least 1 GB of swap.
