Hi to all,
this is my first message on this forum. I read something about arch and i think it's what I was looking for.
I had an old asus l7200 laptop with a PII 233, 64MB ram, without an ethernet card.
I'd like to install arch on this computer; the basic system with a window manager, a text editor and a very simple web browser would be enough for me. I could only connect to internet through an usb port with a wifi card: D-link DWL G122. Is there any hope to get this card working with arch?
I read this post http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=7292 and it seems there are some kernel's problems.
Forgive my english. Thanks
Paolo

I found a slackware's guide for installing the usb wifi pen at this link
http://coulterfamily.dnsalias.org/pages … ELESS.html
Could I use it on arch?

That page doesn't mention your D-Link model at all - it might be useful for general stuff, but not for the specific operation of your setup. You need to identify the driver required for the D-Link, and to do that you need to establish which chipset it uses. If the chipset is not supported under Linux, you may be able to use ndiswrapper instead.
Of course, if the chipset turns out to be Ralink, then that page could be useful.
