X Flashes on Battery power [EDIT]

Hi, I'm running Xfce4 on Arch64.
I p
My system is a Compaq Presario V2000 with an AMD Turion 64, 128 Mb onboard shared RAM ATi Radeon Xpress 200M running the fglrx drivers. It looks and works fine on the adapter, but when I pulled the adapter off to go wireless, the screen starts to flash every now and again. Has anybody else had this problem? If so, what steps might I be able to use in order to fix it? Or should I wait for xorg 7.3?

Other wm's don't cause this intermittent darkening of the screen while running on battery, so I'm a little stumped as to what might be causing it to happen.

Any information regarding this issue would be much appreciated.

Re: X Flashes on Battery power [EDIT]

[UPDATE:] This flashing continues to affect the system under other window managers as well. Running under KDE is producing the same flashing. Is this connected to fglrx, cpufreq, or other package? I will be happy to provide any information requested on this topic. Thank you.

Re: X Flashes on Battery power [EDIT]

Is it arch-specific? Have you tried booting with some LiveCd and seeing if it works or not?
