Switching Screens with Beryl = freeze

Okay, so I installed beryl today. I've been using the nvidia drivers, so no worries there, I just installed it and it ran. It was quite nice, actually.

Then came the trouble. I use KDE and have a habit of starting x in vc/1 and doing other command line administration tasks in vc/2 and vc/3. This creates a problem because I'll fire up KDE, switch to a command line to work on something, try to switch back, and get a black screen with a mouse. From there I can't kill X, change desktops, or even switch back to a command line.

It's something I can work around, but is there any way I can avoid this freeze?
