cooked my /home permissions?

heya all,

i was attempting to give myself permissions to access a network folder over samba and for some reason, i accidentally hit enter when i was only at the /home/krup stage, and neglected to add in the rest of the equation. my machine made a lot of disk-grinding and then a few icons became blank on my desktop. i'm currently using my girlfriend's profile and wondering if i could somehow re-instate myself in my own.

unfortunately, the current permissions on my profile was either 777 or 644, but i've no way to check (that i know of)

any and all help greatly appreciated, as a term paper is due on friday.

Re: cooked my /home permissions?

I'd do a chmod 740, then on login you'll get a few error messages from files that need to be 644 (there aren't much here) so you change those and everything should be fine.
