vlc problems since recent updates [solved]

hello.  out of nowhere VLC started acting up.  it loads with a terrible messed up skin and i cannot access any options or preferences from it.  at the command line I get this:

VLC media player 0.8.6b Janus
[00000284] main dialogs provider error: no dialogs provider module matched "any"
[00000281] skins2 interface error: no suitable dialogs provider found (hint: compile the wxWidgets plugin, and make sure it is loaded properly)
[00000281] skins2 interface: skin: VLC 0.8.5 Default Skin author: aLtgLasS
[00000359] main dialogs provider error: no dialogs provider module matched "any"
[00000281] skins2 interface error: no suitable dialogs provider found (hint: compile the wxWidgets plugin, and make sure it is loaded properly)

Any ideas on what to do?

I rarely use VLC but have been today because a films subtitles won't load in MPlayer or SMPlayer but work fine in VLC.

VLC player was working fine last night, but some daily updates today caused this.

Re: vlc problems since recent updates [solved]

Ah, thank you.  Using VLC from testing solved the problem.  I should check all the forums before I post these things. hmm  I just always hop to multimedia.  Ahaha... well, I also thought it was a problem on my end and not a bug of pacman error.  Oops!
