Good evening,
after multiple tests and trying out the error resolving hints I found on the arch forums (with reference to the skype forums) I am still not able to get some input which can be heard by my counterpart.
Here's a screenshot of alsamixer.
I configured Skype to use the default in- and output device, as the alternatives produced in- and output errors.
Do you guys see possible solution to this problem? I might be blind but I'm rather clueless what to do next.
Thanks in advance for your help
regards,
~cg

I had to change Capture settings to the max value(100%) both in alsamixer and kmix

When I was setting skype up I had my mic plugged into the front of my box, as a result two microphones were being recognised. These were visible in alsamixer from the command line and in kmix on the seetings tab. I had to select mic2 in kmix and ensure that the volume was at max for both mics in alsamixer.

So is it working for you now?
