I have few xfce problems:
1. I can't restart\shut-down without password (even if I add the lines in /etc/sudoers as it is written on the wiki)
2. famd is loaded, but the desktop (and thunar) isn't refreshing.
3. I have "Floppy Drive" mounting icon even if no floppy is mounted.

you're not helping:
1. I wrote that I've tried what was writen in the wiki and it's not working.
2. famd is the daemon name of fam. 'fam' is what I wrote in rc.conf.
3. there is a floppy linhe in fstab, but it marks noauto, and I have no problem with it in gnome.

i restarted hal, dbus, fam, killed and rerun xfdesktop and it started refreshing ![]()

I can't help with the problem, I can only say I noticed fam, despite being in my rc.conf, did not run either. It wasn't after installing pcmanfm (a file manager that needs fam) that I got an error about fam being active.

When you first login, does running "/etc/rc.d/fam stop" say failed. I think I am having the same problem... Are you using networkmanager?
What version of the shutdown permissions are you using. In the sudoers file I use:
user ALL=(roor) NOPASSWD: /usr/lib/xfce/xfsm-shutdown-help
where "user" is my login name and it works for me.

You can also shutdown using hal in Xfce 4.4 (without the needed line in sudoers), just add your self to the power group, make sure hal and dbus are in rc.conf@daemons and logout/reboot.
