Hi all,
I was wondering what music players/plugins has a rating system that has a "smart" random playlist generation. The playlist would of course be generated from my previous listening habits.
Any opinions would be much appreciated. I currently just use mpd+ncmpc.

AFAIK, the best player for that sort of thing would be Amarok. It generates a score for each song based on your listening habits, and you can use the score to make an automatic playlist, like iTunes smart playlists.

I would also say that Amarok would be the best choice for that as well, from what I have heard along with my own experience with it since I use it. However, Rhythmbox might be an okay choice as well, but I do not know because I have not used it in ages.

I tried both exaile and amarok. They are both good but do you think there are any alternatives with less memory usage? Any working plugins for gmpc for this type of thing?

Do you have an older computer, or do you just want to have all your apps not taking advantage of your hardware for some reason? If it is the latter, I must ask, why have a nice computer if you are going to use it like its an old one? xD After all, Amarok uses around 20-30MB of RAM depending on the song it is playing, and I have 768MB total and 458MB free atm so that is a rather meagre amount. xD Times are changing, so 30MB of RAM is not that much anymore. ;3 If you have an older computer though, I dunno if there something to suit it that does what you want. =\ Cheers.
