(64 bit) E17 from Community has many breakages [SOLVED]

After upgrading to the new E17 on 64 bit today (Curl problem fixed), the mouse and keyboard do not function properly. The left mouse button has almost no effect on buttons, menus, etc. The keyboard at least lost insert (not the button itself, but while typing) functionality. This release is unusable. I left E17 and went back to KDE to make sure that it wasn't something else, and everything works as expected here.

I will file a bug report when I'm sure it's not just on my machine.

It seems that there is a conflict between my old configuration from the Takhis 64 bit install and the new one. This is the first time I've seen this happen. So things seem to work.

I had the exact same problem a few days ago and thats why i started fresh as it seems takhis repo is very outdated now compared to community.

~/Desktop is the place to put .desktop files (at least for me). Some can be found in /usr/share/application . drag&drop from e17s filemanager could work as well.

Ya, takhis/x86_64 is very old, as I don't have one myself (ppc user). I'll automate some stuff on a friends box when I get home tomorrow (say, bi-weekly full updates), sorry for the inconvenience. Also, when you have problems between major upgrades, sometimes the only fix is to `rm ~/.e`, 'tis cvs wink
