xfce4 won't sync w/ db? [Solved!]

pacman -S xfce4
error: 'xfce4': not found in sync db

#ok, let's try this

pacman -Sy xfce4
community up to date
error: 'xfce4': not found in sync db

#last try...

pacman --sync --refresh
community up to date
pacman -S xfce4
error: 'xfce4': not found in sync db

As far as I know xfce4 is still a supported DE and I've synced my db at least three times. I've changed my download mirrors, too (not that I'm sure it would help). Advice, please?

[EDIT0]Well, using

pacman -Ss xfce4

I got a lovely bunch of info concerning xfce4, so I know its there and my machine obviously found it in the db, so why can't I download this now?

One side note: it hasn't been a problem thus far, but when I try to use pacman to update/upgrade or install anything, I get:

warning: current locale is invalid; using default "C" locale

and sometimes this as well:

warning: current locale is invalid; using default "C" locale
error: failed retrieving file 'extra.db.tar.gz from mir1.archlinuxfr.org : File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
error: failed to synchronize extra: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)

Do I need to reboot after editing my primary download mirror? Could it be that the server I'm downloading from has an incomplete db (or I just can't access it) and it's those files I can't get that I need to install xfce4? Input appreciated

[EDIT1]Ahh solved it! I went into /etc/pacman.d and edited the server repositories in 'extra.' I guess the mirror I was using just didn't have that extra.db package! I love this OS, it's making me learn so much and for the first time ever using a PC, I actually applied some knowledge to find a solution which I will dare to call clever.

Re: xfce4 won't sync w/ db? [Solved!]

What i can tell  from the messages when you sync: You've only got the community-repo enabled in /etc/pacman.conf.

Try enabling both "current" and "extra" (remove the '#' in front of the repo's name and the server- or include-line

EDIT: sorry, noticed too late that you had it solved

EDIT2: got the locale-problem solved yet? If not, uncomment the locales you'd like to use in /etc/locale.gen and run

# locale-gen

Then set the locale you want to use in /etc/rc.conf
