stay with the archkernel or do it yourself?

Hi

I've an available computer.
Now this should be my test server. I'm going to play with it maybe I'll test xen.

But my question is:

Should I use the default kernel from the archlinux tree or should I make my own kernel from the vanilla sources.
What are you doing for your (test) servers? What is the archlinux way?

Thx in advice.

Unless you need something special, the default arch kernel is perfectly suitable.

Hmm for me the arch way is that anbody can choose his own way to do things without beeing bound to a fixed direction big_smile.
Therefore if you want to test things out, why not try to patch a kernel by yourself.
