[Solved]Beryl broken

I tried Compiz-Fusion-Git and the effects worked but Emerald wouldn't load so I had no title bars. So I tried the stable version of Beryl instead but it has the same problem even if I choose Helidor as the manager. When I used Arch last year it worked and it has worked in other distros. My xorg is set for nvidia drivers 9x and I have a Geforce 4 ti4600. The options in my videocard section are: Option "Composite" "Enable" and 'Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True". I've tried going to the Emerald Manager to choose a theme manually but my CPU usage goes up to 100% and when the window eventually becomes responsive again the themes still don't load.

Re: [Solved]Beryl broken

You keep saying emerald wouldn't load, but what error does it give when you run it in a terminal. We can't help you if we have no error.

Re: [Solved]Beryl broken

It's obvious what to do, start dbus! smile

Re: [Solved]Beryl broken

It is started though... nevermind I got it working by changing the default colour depth to 24 instead of 16 in xorg.conf
