I just found in the /community/os/i686 the package ies4linux-2.0.5-2.pkg.tar.gz

so far I have seen on the server from tanaka http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/downloads is since Feb-22-2007 no development and new build activity anymore. Is this project still alive or death?

No real need to use it, Cxoffice works perfect, not that I ever really need to use it outside of school : /

Maybe it is not actively developed anymore, but does that matter? It installs the specific IE versions with wine and it works just perfect the way it is.
Unless you also want IE7 I guess...

The "old" version works perfectly well, even with localized IE6 versions. IE7 is another story- if you want that I guess you have to wait...
