Kernel Upgrades

Now, I've considered blacklisting kernel upgrades as well as all my kernel modules (my hardware works fine), but I have a quick question about making an upgrade of the kernel. If I upgrade it (for instance, 2.6.21.6-1 came down the pipe today), will my modules automatically upgrade, like with Debian's Module Assistant? Or should I wait until I see the accompanying module updates, before upgrading?

Re: Kernel Upgrades

Usually they need to be rebuilt only when a major kernel (2.6.X) version changes.

Re: Kernel Upgrades

So just to be sure, I'll be fine with this minor upgrade?

Re: Kernel Upgrades

If you mean modules, like in ndiswrapper or ndiswrapper-ck, then you might just as well put them in IgnorePkg as well. This way you won't have any problems when ndiswrapper modules get installed for kernel 2.6.22 but you're still with kernel 2.6.21 after a "pacman -Syu". That would mean no internet, and you'd have to fix a problem that didn't have to exist in the first place.
