It has a SiS chipset and SiS GPU onboard these work ok for x and if so what drivers are you using for x?

I had a SiS laptop (Acer Aspire 3000) a while ago. I don't recall any particular issues running Arch. The X driver is just 'sis'. It should work fine.

I had one also, the driver is stable, but slow.
It ran KDE and office applications fine, but expect low performance if you want to play dvds and such.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

SiS sucks, stay away at all costs.
What a pain. However, it is not impossible. If you need any specific help just ask!
