Macbook Wireless(mad-wifi driver not working)?

Looked at the the debian wiki, and I tried to install the madwifi driver, as they said to do. And at boot, I'm

getting a device ath0 not found? Loaded the modules.  Followed the wiki. Loaded it as "options ath_pci"

Trying this:sudo iwconfig ath0 essid dlink
Error for wireless request "Set ESSID" (8B1A) :
SET failed on device ath0 ; No such device.

The SVN madwifi driver works fine for me.  There is a PKGBUILD in the AUR for it.  I've been using it for a bit now, and upgrade every once in a while, and it seems to work good.

I tried the madwifi package in testing, and that didn't work for me either.

Re: Macbook Wireless(mad-wifi driver not working)?

I know this is an old thread, but madwifi-svn works great for me. Support for the atheros chip the C2D Macbook has will be in 9.4. Until then, it's ndiswrapper or svn.

Who is this doin' this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?
