pacman -Syu results in errors

Hi I have just installed arch in virtualbox.:D My computer is running Ubuntu linux right now. When I try to update the system it results in an error. I will post a screenshot of what the problem is. This install of arch is just a base install right now.

Re: pacman -Syu results in errors

Two things:

1) you need to set up your locale: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Locale
2) Try specifying a different mirror in /etc/pacman.d/{current,extra,community} and see if you can sync with them.

in /etc/locale.gen, I just uncommented the en_US.UTF-8. Is this ok or should I do the other us one?

Re: pacman -Syu results in errors

I uncomment them both, but you should only need whatever one you have set up in /etc/rc.conf
