lack lib32-libpam on install sybase ase 15.0 32 bit version

/opt/sybase/ASE-15_0/bin/dataserver: error while loading shared libraries:
libpam.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

I've installed linux32, lib32-libstdc++.

run "linux32 setup", after some steps, I've got this error.

There are few post shows on google search, and them sucks.

Is there any body ever found the solution of this problem?

And I still don't install the chroot environment of 32 bit.
Or, I'm wrong?
I still don't understand what the difference between the linux32 package and chroot 32bit env. sad

Re: lack lib32-libpam on install sybase ase 15.0 32 bit version

I am not familiar with the program you are trying to install. However, I have installed some 32 bit programs using the lib32 libraries in community and the emul32 libraries in AUR.

First, you need to make sure you have the library for 32 bit pango installed. Then, the problem is getting the configuration set properly to make the 32 bit pango library available for your program.

I ran into the same error trying to get the 32 bit version of Adobe Acrobat to work properly. The program kept trying to use the 64 bit libraries instead of the 32 bit libraries. You might want to look at the bin32-acroread in AUR. It contains the patches and configuration that I finally used to get Adobe Acrobat to run under 32 bit.

Unfortunately, it will take trial and error to get the configuration right to make the library work properly.

tks, tcmdvm
Do you know the what the difference between the emul32 / linux32  set?
I've installed the lib32-libstdc++, do I still need to install the emul32 set?
Do you mean you have seen libpam.so.0 such error?

The libpam.so.0 library is in emul32-baselibs. Unfortunately, you will have to try to get your program to find the proper location after you have installed the library. If you haven't already, do an internet search and see if you can find any helpful information that would give you some indication as to how to get the libraries to work.

I wish I could be of more help, but I am not familiar with the program you are trying to install.
