GroupBlock - Pidgin Plugin

Sometimes when using Pidgin I like to block everyone in one or two groups, specially when I just want to have a quick conversations with people from another group. Sometims I also block them just for the fun of it lol. The problem is that it takes a long time to block (and unblock) each person in each group.

So last week I wrote this very simple plugin for Pidgin that adds right click menu options to block and unblock every buddy in a group. It's called purple-groupblock.

The plugin depends only on libpurple so it should work on Finch as well, but I haven't tested it.

You can download the source from: http://www.tebari.com/purple-groupblock … 0.1.tar.gz

You can also get the PKGBUILD from the AUR

It's been working great for me, so I hope this is usefull to someone else.

Any feedback is welcome.

Enjoy. smile

Re: GroupBlock - Pidgin Plugin

Thank you for testing The_ouroboros.

I've released version 1.0.1, in which I've implement an ugly hack so that the presence for Yahoo buddies is set to "Permanent Offline" instead of blocking them. I did this since blocking a buddy in Yahoo removes them from the buddy list, and this is not the intended behavior. I'm planning to make this optional in the next version.
