Hello,
I started using gnome and I would like to add some applications to the gnome 'Applications' menu. - for example some scripts and launchers I wrote.
Is there an easy way to do this? In the menu editor there's no way to add applications and in the handbook there's a whole section on how to write desktop files and such...
Can anyone give me an easy way to do this?
Thank you,
Grey

"As root, go to /usr/share/applications. In there are a bunch of *.desktop files. Open up a few to get a feel for the syntax.
I like to open one of the existing *.desktop files in a text editor, edit the relevant sections, and save under a new name. "

Install Alacarte, it permits you to menage your menus. ![]()
