Disable single package update?

Hi, I have a query related to pacman. Is there any way to disable updates to certain packages with Arch? I am aware of all of the ramifications of doing such a thing. However for things like kernels Id rather run them on a test box for a while before updating, similarly with other packages/large system updates.

Thanks.

Use IgnorePkg in /etc/pacman.conf

man pacman.conf
