i installed ktorrent but how can i open it? where is the icon?!

It should be in your network menu, it may require a restart of your session for it to appear.

You still have a couple ways of running it though. First, to find the app open a terminal and do

whereis ktorrent

Now you could run it from the terminal

Or in xfce type ALT-F2 to bring up the run program dialog box and just type ktorrent.

I think you should exit X aand then logout totally and log back in so your environment is updated.
