laptop speakers stopped working

My laptop speakers used to work fine but then I used headphones and since then no sound comes out of the speakers. The headphones still work fine.

I've tried the function keys which set volume and mute but they do nothing.

Alsamixer has all volume levels set highest and nothing muted

The laptop is a samsung v20

Can anyone suggest anything to try?
