I don't use .xinitrc, since I can't figure out why startx fails on me, so I have to use a bloody greeter (Gdm).
This is my dwm.desktop:

[Desktop Entry]

Exec=/usr/bin/conky | /usr/local/bin/dwm | eval `cat /home/mmanu/.fehbg`

I'm using conky-cli from AUR.

It's not patched, I'm only using conky-cli, as I have indicated in my previous post. I would really like to apply some patches, but the patches are not up to date for version 4.4.1.

finferflu, just look into the dwm Mailinglist, there you'all always find the latest patches, news and some other stuff.

what sort of error message did you get? (maybe check the xsession error log)

Looks like on of the *box's as a WM. if I had to guess more than likely OpenBox

it's soooooo cool that so many archers use openbox! i use ob for about 1.5- 2years. i switched one month ago to arch and this was a pleasant surprise.
