[Request] Apsfilter

Apsfilter is the number one magic filter  for printing under Unix  environment. What does apsfilter stand for ? Apsfilter Prints So Fine, It Leads To Extraordinary Results  ;-) Its highly configurable and most flexible by global and printer dependend config files and allowing users to choose between different print options with lpr on the commandline to get easy control over layout, speed and quality of the printing process.

Re: [Request] Apsfilter

It's not exactly clear what benefits apsfilter brings to printing.

Can it work together with cups or should it be considered a console-based alternative for cups ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: [Request] Apsfilter

To clarify : you want  a solution that allows you to scale down 4 A4 pages so they fit on 1 A4 sheet ?

Cups itself doesn't have that option, BUT the lpr and lp commands DO.
See CUPS user manual: N-Up Printing

Whether it works for you will depend on how your printer is setup.
