USB devices resetting after suspend

After upgrading to the 2.6.22 arch stock kernel, I have noticed that after suspending my laptop to ram, any connected USB drive is reset. By reset I mean for example if before the suspend I had a USB device /dev/sdb with a partition /dev/sdb1, after resume the device changes to /dev/sdc with partition /dev/sdc1.

This was not a problem with the 2.6.21 arch stock kernel and after resume everything worked without having to remount the USB drives.

I also tried downgrading the udev package from the latest 114 to 113-3 and that didn't help either.

Any ideas?
