Gtk 2.4 & Pango

After upgrading to GTK-2.4 programs using gtk2 aren't working anymore: f.eg. executing gimp:

atithi [/home/atithi] # gimp

** (gimp:1340): WARNING **: No builtin or dynamically loaded modules
were found. Pango will not work correctly. This probably means
there was an error in the creation of:
  '/etc/pango/pango.modules'
You may be able to recreate this file by running pango-querymodules.

(gimp:1340): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gobject.c: line 1561 (g_object_ref): assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

** (gimp:1340): CRITICAL **: file pango-engine.c: line 68 (_pango_engine_shape_shape): assertion `PANGO_IS_FONT (font)' failed
gimp: fatal error: file shape.c: line 75 (pango_shape): assertion failed: (glyphs->num_glyphs > 0)

neither runing pango-querymodules nor "touch /etc/pango/pango.modules" did help. Anyone else's experiencing this problem?

Re: Gtk 2.4 & Pango

What version of pango and gimp do you have on your machine right now?

Re: Gtk 2.4 & Pango

i installed an older version after being not able to solve this problem. gtk2-2.4.0-1 and pango-1.4.0-1 are the versions that didn't work on my system.

You should probably submit a bug report, dorphell doesn't read the forum.
