mint menu in arch

How can I compile and use MintMenu in arch? (MintMenu is the nice gnome menu that come with Mint linux)
I couldn't find any source for MintMenu, only DEB packages.

Re: mint menu in arch

For this case, namely where no sources but .deb files are provieded, you can use deb-extract (or debextract?).

For example nspluginwrapper does so because part of it needs to be compiled on a 32bit system.

You may want to look in it's pkgbuild:

Re: mint menu in arch

Correct me if I'm way off base here, but isn't mintmenu just gnome-control-center?  They used mintmenu in the bianca (and earlier) releases because gnome-control-center wasn't actually part of gnome yet.  At least, that was my impression.

Some googling reveals that their cassandra release replaces mintmenu with gnome-control-center, anyway.

pacman -S control-center

Re: mint menu in arch

no, you're confusing between MintConfig that combined with Gnome-Control-Center and MintMenu that is just nice programs menu like in suse but better.
Can I just extract the deb package (the important part of it) and it will work? I think it will, because MintMenu is python based program. I'll try it and let you know how it goes.
