[SOLVED]Simple multimedia problems

Hi to all, I installed archlinux x86_64 on a laptop and I have only few small media problems.
First, I'm trying to install mplayer-plugin but, even from different mirrows, I always get

Procedere con l'installazione? [Y/n] y (continue with installation? )
:: Recupero dei pacchetti da extra... (getting packages from extra...)
errore: failed retrieving file 'mplayer-plugin-3.40-3.pkg.tar.gz' from archlinux.puzzle.ch : File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
attenzione: impossibile recuperare alcuni file da extra (attention: impossible to get some packages from extra)
errore: impossibile eseguire l'operazione richiesta (errore inaspettato) (error: impossible to execute required operation(unespected error))

Is the package broken?
Second, I installed xinelib and gxine. When i try to use it I obtain this error message

gxine: error while loading shared libraries: liblirc_client.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I check the dependencies but gxine doesn't depend on lirc(why should it?).
Third(last), I can't change from rhythmbox the ID3 tag of a mp3.

hi the first to me seems a syncronizing problem try pacman -Sy before installing at least change mirror. For gxine: did you try to install lirc so you could see if it help? 

p.s.: i don't use gxine or rhythmbox so you can wait someonelse post that can affort more help

Hi itbhp, mplayer-plugin is the only  one package that gives me problem even syncronyzing the repo. Is there any alternative?

If you're using firefox , the extension MediaPlayerConnectivity

will allow you to choose almost any external player for videos.
It works very good with vlc .

Solved the fisrt question. I've downloaded manually mplayer-plugin from the repo and installed with pacman -U . I don't understand but it works.
Solved the second question. Gxine is compiled by default with lirc support so I needed to install lirc.
Solved the third one. For editing tag rhythmbox needs gstreamer0.10-taglib pakcages. I hope this could be useful for someone. Bye
