This is not such an important issue, but odd enough. On my Acer 5500 with an 1820x800 (14.1 LCD), when I boot to grub, the graphics screen never shows up. However, when I plug in an external monitor (at boot time) the graphics screen works on both monitors. The same applies to bootsplash frambuffer. When I boot without an external monitor attached I get an error message (video mode not available) But when it is booted with an external monitor, the bootsplash will work on both monitors. I used to run openSUSE, and the bootsplash worked but not the grub splash. Anyone have an experience with this kind of situation?
