Grub doesn't shows splash image

Downloaded bootsplash image that worked for my Debian installation. But I still see black background. sad menu.lst:

splashimage=(hd0,3)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz

timeout   10
default   0

title Linux
root   (hd0,3)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sda4 ro vga=773
initrd /boot/kernel26.img

title Windows
rootnoverify (hd0,1)
makeactive
chainloader +1

I don't have seperate /boot partition, /boot is on /dev/sda4 (so (hd0,3) should me right). So what's the problem? Splash iamge is correct (I even made one by myself, but it doesn't work too sad), menu.lst seems to look fine for me too. sad

Re: Grub doesn't shows splash image

You have to replace grub with grub-gfx from the community repo to get grub splash to work.

Re: Grub doesn't shows splash image

Maybe anyone knows how to disable white border in grub? And how to remove text (press 'c' for command line, etc, that is below that white border)?
