No Audio From USB Headset

As the title says I am not getting any sound from my USB Logitech Headet. I have installed alsa-lib and alsa-utils added them to daemons and rebooted but still nothing. Any suggestions?

Re: No Audio From USB Headset

Please check the "hooks" to see that USB   USB INPUT are included...

Re: No Audio From USB Headset

mkinitcpio.conf:

The following lists the "hooks" provided therein.....

# HOOKS
# This is the most important setting in this file.  The HOOKS control the
# modules and scripts added to the image, and what happens at boot time.
# Order is important, and it is recommended that you do not change the
# order in which HOOKS are added.  Run 'mkinitcpio -H <hook name>' for
# help on a given hook.
# 'base' is _required_ unless you know precisely what you are doing.
# 'udev' is _required_ in order to automatically load modules
# 'modload' may be used in place of 'udev', but is not recommended
# 'filesystems' is _required_ unless you specify your fs modules in MODULES
# Examples:
#    This setup specifies all modules in the MODULES setting above.
#    No raid, lvm2, or encrypted root is needed.
#    HOOKS="base"
#
#    This setup will autodetect all modules for your system and should
#    work as a sane default
#    HOOKS="base udev autodetect ide scsi sata filesystems"
#
#    This setup will generate a 'full' image which supports most systems.
#    No autodetection is done.
#    HOOKS="base udev ide scsi sata usb filesystems"
#
#    This setup assembles an ide raid array with an encrypted root FS.
#    Note: See 'mkinitcpio -H raid' for more information on raid devices.
#    HOOKS="base udev ide raid encrypt filesystems"
#
#    This setup loads an lvm2 volume group on a usb device.
#    HOOKS="base udev usb lvm2 filesystems"
HOOKS="base udev autodetect ide scsi sata usb usbinput filesystems"

Re: No Audio From USB Headset

HOOKS="base udev autodetect pata scsi sata keymap filesystems"

So should I just add "usb" to it?

Re: No Audio From USB Headset

might be a bit obvious suggestion, but are you sure the sound levels are high enough? (alsamixer, unmute everything etc) ?

Re: No Audio From USB Headset

Are your programs outputting to the proper audio device? Can you get sound with speaker-test if you tell it which device to use?

Re: No Audio From USB Headset

Well I am using my PC speakers with an audio jack which seems to be working fine. Even my headset works with the audio jack plugged in. But when I plug it in with a USB adapter it is not detected at all. My audio connections on my motherboard go awry sometimes which is why I need to get the USB working.
