Problems in Vlc

Hi,
I've recently upgraded to Don't Panic. Whenever I try to play a video
1. I need to play as root on xine
2. VLC exits with segmentation fault

I'm using an IBM thinkpad X31, dvd drive is /dev/sr0 and gets mounted on to /mnt/cdrom

the most likely is that u got a computer virus... Have u lately been surfing throw _porn_ sites ?

Have you recently upgraded?  Try running pacman -Syu to get the latest version of VLC.. this problem should have been fixed.  If not you may have to build a version of VLC yourself.
