When I insert my headphones the speakers don't switch off nor does I have any way of disabling them manually keeping the headphones on.
I've tried installing the latest alsa-driver HG (20070901) but the problem persists, tried specifying various models on the modprobe.conf options line, like
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack
but it didn't help neither.

EDIT: Adding
options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1 model=lenovo
to the /etc/modprobe.conf file solved the problem but don't ask me why. I've tried all model options available for my codec before posting and it didn't help. But if I set the model to lenovo and position_fix to 1 it works.

Hey, I just had the exact same problem on the same hardware and this fix sorted things out perfectly. I was just wondering if anyone had any helpful comments on the matter, since although the problem is solved... bloody hell, what an obscure fix! I reckon something ought to be done about this, because it's just silly :-S
